Hulk vs Thanos: A Battle to End All Battles

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has been on a roll lately. Ever since the release of Black Panther, Marvel movies have been stacking up to be one of the best movie franchises ever. The next big thing is going to be Avengers: Endgame which releases this Friday! But before that happens, we need to know who will win in a fight between Thanos and Hulk?

We’re talking about the Hulk and Thanos. The green giant with anger issues versus a purple space tyrant who wants to purge all life in existence. Both are absolute powerhouses.

This blog post will compare these two characters and help you figure out who would come out on top in a battle! So let’s take a look at each of their abilities and strengths.

Hulk Biography:

Bruce Banner was born in Ohio. He gained immense knowledge of gamma radiation and its effects on the human body, which then led to him working at a military facility as well as teaching science at some point during his life. After being exposed to high levels of Gamma Radiation, Bruce transforms into Hulk when he gets angry or stressed out.

The Hulk is an incredible super-strong being who has a big temper. He is also very smart and has incredible fighting skills. The Hulk weighs around 1.040 lbs and has a height of around 7feet. He made his first appearance in the comic book series, in May 1962 in The Incredible Hulk #1.

Thanos Biography:

Thanos was born on Saturn’s moon Titan. He is the ruler of his home planet and has a legion of soldiers called The Black Order at his disposal. His goal in life is to collect all six Infinity Stones so that he can wipe out half the universe with just one snap of his fingers! Thanos has Deviant Syndrome which gave him a purple skin and a massive body.

Because of that Thanos has incredible super-strength as well as other powers like psychokinesis. He also has a superhuman intellect that allows him to plan ahead with his goals effectively and is even called a god. Thanos weighs around 985 lbs and stands 6ft 7 tall! He made his debut in February ’73 in Iron Man #55.

The Mad Titan possesses tremendous strength and also has the ability to wield energy weapons and other abilities.

Hulk Powers & Abilities:

Superhuman strength, stamina and durability: Hulk has incredible super-strength which allows him to throw tanks, breakthrough most objects and even tear up metal.

Regenerative Healing Factor: If the Hulk is injured he will heal much more quickly than any normal human.

Superhuman Durability: The Hulk is very durable. He can take a lot of punishment and keep on going!

Immense Leaping Ability: The Hulk has incredible leaping ability which he uses often to travel great distances in a single leap, as well as being able to jump up high into the air or down from very tall buildings

Genius: The Hulk has a very high intelligence level. In fact, he is an expert scientist as well as being extremely intelligent in the field of chemistry and nuclear physics!

Telepathic Immunity: It’s not known how many people have tried to control his mind but he is resistant to this.

Thanos Powers & Abilities:

Superhuman strength, stamina and durability: Thanos is nigh-invulnerable to physical injury and most energy projection, with the exception of beings who possess great might. He can withstand powerful energy blasts from cosmic beings without any damage at all, as well as survive indefinitely in outer space devoid of air.

Telekinesis: He also has the ability to use psychokinesis which allows him to manipulate objects with his mind, including living beings.

Genius: Thanos has an extraordinarily high level of intelligence and is capable of formulating complex strategies that would take lesser opponents years to understand.

Ability to teleport: Thanos can travel great distances within seconds, including across different planets in a matter of moments.

Infinity Gauntlet: Thanos is in possession of the Infinity Gauntlet, which grants him all six cosmic crystals that give control over time, space, power and reality.

Hulk: Weakness:

Gamma Radiation: Although he got his powers from Gamma radiation, this can also be drained or get an overload of it.

Thanos: Weakness

While doing our research, it is hard to find a weakness with Thanos. Still, he is a lot less powerful without the Infinity Gauntlet. It is quite a day and night difference if he is wielding the Infinity Gauntlet.

Power Grid Comparison

We are using the same numbers as Marvel has published in the character’s report. The maximum that a power can reach is 7.

Both the Hulk and Thanos are formidable opponents with powers that rival each other. The only thing is, it seems as if Thanos has an edge over the Hulk because of his Infinity Gauntlet.

A small caveat on this fight, both beings are immortal. If you want to know more about that, check out Thanos and Bruce Banner on Fandom.

Looking at the numbers from Marvel, they also believe that it would be a very close fight. Only in speed, Thanos seems to outperform Hulk with quite out a lot. Hulk only has 3 out of 7 where Thanos has a perfect score.

At Cool Things, we had a whole discussion if we should call it a tie between both characters but we just can’t especially with the big difference in speed. And it could only be close to a tie if Thanos does not have the Infinity Gauntlet. If he has that in his possession, we know that even all The Avengers have a hard time defeating him. So to make things completely clear, Thanos would win with and without the Infinity Gauntlet.
