It’s the battle of the behemoths! The Incredible Hulk vs Juggernaut, two heroes with superhuman strength and powers that are made for one another in a clash of champions. It is no secret that these two giants have fought each other before, but this time it will be different. This time they will fight on equal footing, and things are about to get interesting…
Two of the most powerful Marvel Super Heroes go head-to-head in this battle. The Hulk and Juggernaut are both beloved by their respective fans, but each has his own set of advantages that make him more formidable than the other.
In this blog post, we will take a close look at these two fighters to see what makes them tick and how they might fare against one another in an epic showdown! Still, Marvel has already created a comic about this fight which is called Juggernaut #2. But we will give you a more objective look by comparing their strengths and weaknesses. But it is a great story to read so definitely check it out.
The Hulk is probably one of the characters from Marvel that has changed the most over the last decades. Did you know that when the Hulk made his first appearance in May 1962 in The Incredible Hulk #1, he was actually grey instead of green? Just to refresh your memory the Hulk’s real name is Bruce Banner. Following the Marvel Encyclopedia, The Hulk is 7ft and weighs 1.040 lbs.
If you are not familiar with how Bruce became The Hulk, well, it was actually an accident. Bruce got exposed to an incredible amount of gamma radiation after standing too close to the detonation of a G-Bomb which he created himself. Afterwards, every time Banner got angry he would turn into the Hulk.
A lot of people know that Juggernaut is indeed Professor X’s brother but to be more precise, he is actually his stepbrother as Charles’mother got remarried to Juggernaut’s father. But do you know Juggernaut’s real name? Well, it is actually Cain Marko. Juggernaut weighs 900 lbs and is 6ft 10 in height. He made his first appearance in X-Men #12 in July 1965.
While Cain is Professor X’s stepbrother, many believe that he is also a mutant but this is not true. He actually gained his powers through magic. He became The Unstoppable Juggernaut after finding a ruby that contained Cyttorak. We also often get the question: Why does the Juggernaut have such a weird helmet? Well, it stops Xavier from entering his mind, so he is practically invulnerable to Professor X’s powers.
Hulk vs Juggernaut: Power Comparison
If you check Fandom, you will find a long list of The Hulk’s powers while the one from Juggernaut is actually really small. Juggernaut excels in strength but that is it. When we compare him to the Hulk, you could already see that this wouldn’t be a fair fight.
Although both characters get a perfect score for strength (7 out of 7), there is definitely a difference in who is stronger and that would be the Hulk without any doubt. His strength just knows no limit. The angrier he gets the more powerful he becomes. It is a little bit like Goku who gets stronger after every fight. But with the Hulk, it is just, the more rage the more power he has. Juggernaut’s strength will reach a cap at some point, we won’t see that happening any time soon with the Hulk.
We found that this a tricky one as The Hulk got a 6 out of 7 in terms of intelligence. Now, we get that Bruce is an absolute genius but The Hulk not so much. He has the IQ of a five-year-old and it is the same for his emotional intelligence. Still, Juggernaut is also not going to win a Nobel Prize any time soon so this advantage would still go to The Hulk
On Fandom, it is also stated that the Hulk possesses “Retroactive Immortality” which actually means that he is immortal. So even if Juggernaut was able to kill him, the Hulk would self-resurrect.
Power Grid Comparison
We are using the same numbers as Marvel has published in the character’s report. The maximum that a power can reach is 7.
The list of weaknesses of The Hulk and Juggernaut isn’t very long. We have seen that the Hulk is vulnerable to attacks so he can be stabbed by adamantium and vibranium blades but the damage would be minimal. Also, in the past, he was susceptible to gamma radiation draining but he got immune to that as well.
For Juggernaut, we know that he has a hard time with mental attacks but he has got a helmet to counter that now.
So the only way that both characters can be outdone is by being beaten in strength and as mentioned above the Hulk has a severe advantage on that part.
Spontaneous Fight vs Prepared Fight
We always compare a spontaneous fight vs a prepared fight but that would not make a difference here.
When we were preparing this post by doing some research, we already had a gut feeling that the Hulk would be the winner of this match. Also, the power grid above shows a major advantage for the Hulk. Still, seeing these guys trading blows to each other would be epic. I would love to see them in a slap contest, where each one of them can take turns in slapping each other silly. I would definitely pay to see that contest!
